Warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes on Saturday targeting military positions belonging to the Houthi group in Yemen’s Marib and Al-Jawf governorates, marking the latest development in the rapidly escalating military confrontation.

According to preliminary information, one of the strikes hit a missile-launch team as it was preparing to fire, killing several Houthi fighters. Other strikes targeted military positions and gatherings in Al-Jubah and Majzar districts in Marib, as well as Al-Safra district in Al-Jawf.

The airstrikes also reportedly targeted Houthi reinforcements, missile launch platforms, and weapons storage facilities across the two governorates.

The strikes followed two days of heightened Houthi military escalation, including attacks on Saudi-linked vessels in the Red Sea, the group’s declaration of a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia, and intensified military movements along several front lines.

The Houthis also increased missile and drone preparations in Marib and Al-Jawf, while continuing to threaten further attacks against regional targets and international shipping routes.

Before the latest escalation, Sheba Intelligence published a series of exclusive reports revealing Houthi preparations for a broader military campaign. These included the deployment of missile launchers and drones, the establishment of advanced launch positions in Al-Jawf, and the movement of explosive unmanned surface and underwater vessels along Yemen’s western coast.

The reports also documented preparations for coordinated attacks targeting Saudi Arabia and international shipping in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait.

The latest airstrikes indicate an intensified effort to disrupt Houthi offensive capabilities, destroy launch infrastructure, and prevent further missile, drone, and maritime attacks before they can be carried out.
