Sources report expanded intelligence deployments, concealed defensive systems and preparations for missile strikes on sensitive regional targets

The Houthis have expanded security and military deployments across Hodeidah while preparing for a possible missile attack against sensitive targets in the Red Sea and potentially Saudi Arabia, sources inside the group told Sheba Intelligence.

According to the sources, large numbers of personnel from the Houthis’ Preventive Security apparatus have been deployed in Hodeidah city and surrounding coastal areas.

Their mission includes monitoring local movements, securing military facilities and identifying suspected intelligence activity near missile, drone and maritime installations.

The expanded security presence reflects growing concern within the group that its military network in Hodeidah has been penetrated or exposed to aerial surveillance and targeting.

Sources also said the Houthis have deployed defensive systems in heavily wooded areas inside and around the coastal Al-Munirah military camp.

Vegetation and nearby agricultural areas are reportedly being used to conceal equipment from aerial reconnaissance and satellite observation.

Sheba Intelligence could not independently determine the type of systems deployed at the camp or whether they are intended for air defense, surveillance, early warning or the protection of nearby military infrastructure.

The deployments nevertheless form part of a broader effort to reinforce military sites supporting Houthi missile, drone and maritime operations along the Red Sea coast.

The same sources said preparations are under way for a missile attack against sensitive targets in the Red Sea, with Saudi territory also considered a possible target.

No independent information is currently available regarding the timing or specific objectives of the planned attack.

However, the preparations are consistent with previous Sheba Intelligence reporting on the movement of ballistic missiles, launch platforms and drones into coastal areas including Al-Salif, Al-Jah, Al-Tuhayta and other locations in Hodeidah Governorate.

The Houthis have repeatedly used farms, wooded areas and civilian surroundings to conceal launch systems and reduce their exposure to airstrikes.

The latest deployments follow strikes on facilities linked to drone, communications and maritime operations in Hodeidah and Kamaran Island.

The combination of tighter internal security, dispersed defensive systems and renewed missile preparations suggests that the group is attempting to protect and rebuild its coastal strike network while maintaining the ability to threaten shipping and regional infrastructure.

Hodeidah therefore remains central to the Houthis’ military posture in the Red Sea, serving not only as a strategic port but also as a rear base for missile, drone and maritime capabilities extending toward Bab al-Mandab.
