Hundreds of Unidentified Bodies Buried in North Yemen

Hundreds of bodies lie in the mortuaries of public hospitals in Yemen, and many of the dead have no identity. Some of the bodies cannot be identified because of the lack of documents that prove their place of origin and familial connection.

Over the past few years, the Ansar Allah (Houthi) group began burying the unidentified bodies in some Yemeni provinces, saying this matter is a "religious and humanitarian duty." However, some Yemenis are doubtful about the Houthi narrative and accuse the group of torturing its critics to death and burying them as unidentified bodies.
