Yemeni Armed Forces Report Nearly 2,000 Targeting Operations as Interior Ministry Uncovers Houthi Cells

Yemen’s armed forces have reported a combined 1,994 targeting operations in their four latest military statements against Houthi fighters, reinforcements and military equipment across multiple fronts. Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry has announced the arrest of Houthi-linked cells and the detection of suspected intelligence and sabotage activities in government-held governorates.
In their latest announcement, the armed forces reported 468 targeting operations on the eastern front, in Al-Bayda and on the Al-Mansoura front in Al-Wazi’iyah district. The military said the strikes killed or wounded hundreds of Houthi fighters and destroyed military vehicles and equipment.
The latest statement follows three earlier announcements by military spokesperson Staff Colonel Majed Abdullah Al-Nuzaily, reporting 756 targeting operations on September 27, another 356 on September 28 and 414 in the subsequent 24-hour period.
The earlier statements reported 802 Houthi fighters killed or wounded and four Iranian military experts killed in Taiz, alongside the destruction of command centres, weapons depots, missile launchers and military vehicles.
The armed forces also accused the Houthis of continuing to target civilians and civilian infrastructure, including educational facilities, describing these attacks as serious violations of international humanitarian law.
On the security front, the Interior Ministry announced the arrest of several Houthi-linked cells and operatives in government-held governorates. Security agencies also reported detecting suspected smuggling operations, intelligence-gathering activities, recruitment attempts and suspicious communications.
According to the ministry, the Houthis have exploited telecommunications networks and pressured residents in areas under their control to obtain information from relatives in government-held territories.
The parallel announcements come amid intensified fighting across Yemen and government warnings of attempts to extend Houthi activities into areas under government control.
