Yemeni Military Launches 97 Strikes on Houthi Reinforcements in Taiz–Tur Al-Bahah Sector
The operations neutralized 260 Houthi fighters and destroyed or disabled 44 military vehicles and supply assets, according to the Yemeni military. The intensified focus on Taiz and Tur Al-Bahah follows earlier Sheba Intelligence reporting on the deployment of special forces to reinforce the sector amid Houthi attempts to pressure supply routes toward Lahj and Aden.
The Yemeni Armed Forces carried out 97 precision targeting operations against Houthi military reinforcements on the Tur Al-Bahah front and across the Taiz axis, marking the latest escalation along the sector stretching from southern Taiz into northern Lahj.
Armed Forces spokesman Col. Majid Abdullah al-Nuzaili said the operations involved fighter aircraft, drones, artillery, missiles and snipers.
Al-Nuzaili said the operations neutralized 260 Houthi fighters and destroyed or disabled 44 military vehicles and transport and supply assets. He also announced separate airstrikes against what the military described as vital Houthi targets in Sanaa and Saada.
The casualty figures are battlefield estimates released by the Yemeni Armed Forces and have not been independently verified.
Taiz and Tur Al-Bahah at the Center of Operations
The concentration of 97 operations against Houthi military reinforcements in Taiz and Tur Al-Bahah represents a significant development in the ongoing fighting, placing the southern Taiz–northern Lahj sector directly at the center of current military operations.
On October 3, Sheba Intelligence revealed that the Yemeni military had reinforced its defenses in Taiz with special forces transferred from other military regions, including units experienced in mountain warfare against the Houthis. The forces were deployed to participate in combat operations, train troops and reinforce particularly sensitive sectors.
Sources told Sheba Intelligence that the special forces were operating alongside units from the Taiz and Tur Al-Bahah military axes, across a broad area characterized by mountainous terrain and key supply routes connecting Taiz with Lahj and the western coast.
From More Than 50 Fronts to Strikes on Reinforcements
The deployment followed an earlier Sheba Intelligence report on October 2 documenting a Houthi offensive extending across more than 50 fronts and contact points in Taiz, from Bani Bakkari, Humair and Al-Kadaha in the west to Jabal Han, Al-Aqrud, Samea and the northern and eastern approaches to the city.
The report found that a key objective of the offensive was to increase pressure on strategic heights and mountainous approaches, helping the Houthis protect their recent gains toward the western coast and Bab al-Mandab while simultaneously threatening Taiz’s southern supply routes.
Within this context, the Samea, Al-Shamayatayn, Haifan, Al-Maqatirah and Tur Al-Bahah fronts have become particularly important because of their connection to the road network leading toward Al-Turbah and onward to Lahj and Aden.
The Yemeni military had already reported on September 24 that units from the Taiz Axis, Tur Al-Bahah Axis and Giants Brigades had confronted Houthi attempts to advance toward Wadi Al-Maqatirah. According to the military, the operation sought to reach positions near the strategic road linking Aden, Lahj and Taiz.
Reinforcements and Supply Assets Targeted
The latest statement differs from broader military communiqués by specifically identifying the targets as Houthi military reinforcements in Taiz and Tur Al-Bahah.
The reported destruction or disabling of 44 military vehicles and transport and supply assets also indicates that a significant portion of the operations focused on troop movements, equipment and logistical support rather than frontline positions alone.
According to the military statement, five different means of attack were used: fighter aircraft, drones, artillery, missiles and snipers, indicating targeting operations at varying ranges and levels across the battlefield.
More Than 2,700 Operations Reported in the Latest Campaign
The fighting in Taiz and Tur Al-Bahah forms part of a broader military campaign carried out by Yemeni government forces over recent days.
Sheba Intelligence previously documented 2,468 airstrikes and targeting operations across five military statements issued between September 27 and October 2. The figures included 756 operations announced in the first statement, followed by 356, 414, 468 and 474 operations in subsequent statements.

In the latest broad operational statement following that tally, Al-Nuzaili announced an additional 257 targeting operations across Sanaa, Midi, Baqim, Al-Jawf, Marib, Al-Bayda, Lahj and Taiz, while emphasizing that the main operational effort was concentrated on the Taiz fronts.
The Yemeni military said those operations neutralized at least 700 Houthi fighters and destroyed 170 combat vehicles and military assets.
Taken together, the figures announced in these six military statements amount to 2,725 airstrikes and targeting operations during the latest campaign.
The successive military statements also show an increasingly pronounced concentration of operations on Taiz. In its October 2 statement, the military said that most of the 1,540 Houthi fighters it reported killed or wounded were on the Taiz fronts.
The latest announcement narrows that operational focus further, with 97 precision operations directed specifically against Houthi reinforcements across the Taiz–Tur Al-Bahah sector.
