Yemen’s armed forces announced 835 new strikes over the past 24 hours as part of the ongoing Dawn of Yemen offensive, bringing the cumulative number of reported strikes since the operation began in early October to more than 24,573, according to figures compiled by Sheba Intelligence from official military statements.
The military spokesperson said the latest operations targeted Houthi troop concentrations, movements, reinforcements, defensive positions, firing systems, and supply routes, using fighter aircraft, drones, artillery, rocket launchers, and sniper units.
According to the statement, the operations resulted in the neutralization of approximately 285 Houthi fighters and commanders, while around 190 military vehicles and other assets, including drones, were destroyed or disabled.
Taiz: Government Forces Repel Houthi Counterattacks
In Taiz governorate, the Yemeni military announced that government forces had repelled renewed Houthi attacks aimed at recapturing positions lost during earlier fighting.
According to the military statement, the Houthis deployed additional combat formations and reinforcements toward government-held positions. However, army units, supported by local popular resistance forces, successfully repelled the assaults and prevented the group from achieving its tactical objectives.
The developments indicate continued fighting across the Taiz front, where Houthi forces are attempting to regain the initiative in several sectors following advances previously reported by government troops.
Marib: Sustained Military Pressure on Houthi Positions
On the northern and eastern fronts west of Marib governorate, government forces continued operations involving armored units, artillery, and drones, targeting Houthi movements, fortifications, and weapons platforms.
The military said the operations focused on restricting the Houthis’ ability to maneuver, regroup, or transfer reinforcements between operational sectors.
These operations form part of the broader offensive strategy aimed at maintaining pressure on Houthi positions while supporting continued ground operations.
Operational Background: More Than 24,000 Strikes Since Early October
The latest developments come amid the ongoing Dawn of Yemen offensive, launched by Yemeni government forces in early October. The campaign has involved extensive air and ground operations, combining fighter aircraft, drones, artillery, and coordinated ground assaults across multiple fronts.
Sheba Intelligence previously documented a cumulative total exceeding 18,706 reported strikes by October 15, rising to more than 21,248 by October 16 and surpassing 22,574 by October 18.
On October 19, the Yemeni military reported another 1,164 strikes within 24 hours. The latest announcement of 835 additional strikes on October 21 brings the calculated cumulative total to more than 24,573 strikes since the offensive began, excluding any additional operations not covered by the available reporting sequence.
Military figures indicate a decline in the daily number of reported strikes compared with the offensive’s earlier peak, when more than 2,750 operations were reported in a single 24-hour period.
Nevertheless, continued fighting in Taiz and western Marib suggests that government forces are maintaining military pressure, while Houthi units attempt to recapture lost positions and reorganize their formations.
The latest developments also suggest a shift in operational emphasis on these fronts toward consolidating territorial gains, repelling Houthi counterattacks, and continuing to degrade the group’s military capabilities, movements, and supply lines.
The Yemeni military maintained that all strikes targeted verified military objectives and were conducted with the necessary precautions to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The cumulative strike figures are based on official military statements compiled by Sheba Intelligence. Casualty figures and battlefield outcomes remain attributed to the Yemeni military and have not been independently verified.
