China's 45th Naval Fleet on the Way to Gulf of Aden

On Tuesday, the 45th fleet of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy set sail from a military port in the coastal city of Qingdao, to take over an escort mission from the 44th naval fleet in the Gulf of Aden and the waters off Somalia, Chinese media reported. The 45th fleet includes naval troops, guided-missile destroyer Urumqi, the missile frigate Linyi, the comprehensive replenishment vessel Dongpinghu, dozens of special forces personnel, and two helicopters.

London's Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) has signed a deal with the Republic of Yemen to care for four looted objects before their safe return to the country, the London-based Museum Association reported on Tuesday. The arrangement will see the V&A temporarily research, care for, and conserve the carved stone funerary stelae that the Metropolitan Police recovered from an interior design shop in east London. About 2,610 artifacts have been smuggled from Yemen since the war started in 2015

In a meeting with the European Union mission, President of the Presidential Council Rashad Al-Alimi urged  Tuesday the EU to pressure the Ansar Allah (Houthi) group to comply with popular and international will and choose the path of peace to end the humanitarian suffering in the war-torn country. The meeting, which was held at the Maashiq Palace in Aden, was attended by government officials. Al-Alimi highlighted the challenges and risks facing the security and stability of the region, with the increasing threats of the Houthis and cross-border terrorist organizations.

On Tuesday, the Teaching Staff Syndicate at Taiz University began an all-out strike, demanding a salary raise and the disbursement of bonuses that have accumulated for years. A Syindcate statement said the national currency's economic deterioration continues in line with price hikes, adding to the suffering of the teaching staff and all people. In other provinces, including Aden, strikes have also begun this week.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived in Oman for a private meeting with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, following his visit to India, where he attended the G20 summit and held talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Though not officially announced, the visit highlights Saudi Arabia's efforts to strengthen regional diplomatic ties.
