Mass Protests in Yemen Call for Ending Indiscriminate Bombing of Gaza

Thousands of protestors in Yemen took to the streets on Friday, denouncing the continued Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip in Palestine and calling for an end to the Israeli airstrikes that have left over 3,500 civilians over the last two weeks.

The mass protests erupted in Sana'a, Aden, Shabwa, Taiz, Ibb, Al-Mahra, Hadramout and Ma'rib. The protestors raised the Palestinian flags to signify their support and solidarity with Palestine, particularly the civilians in Gaza. The protesters decried the Israeli brutal bombing of houses and civilian facilities in Gaza.

The protestors said Israel is "responsible for the war and genocides" occurring in Gaza, calling on the Arab leaders to take a strict stance and deter Israel from continuing its indiscriminate bombing of Gaza.

On October 17,  Israel bombed Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza, killing over 500 civilians, including women and children, according to health officials in Gaza. The attack on the hospital drew regional and international criticism and sparked a wave of protests in the Arab world.

As the Hamas-Israel war continues, the possibility of regional conflict grows. On Thursday, a U.S. warship intercepted drones and missiles from Yemen. U.S. officials said the Ansar Allah (Houthi) group fired missiles and drones. According to Israeli media, the Houthi missiles were intended to hit targets in Israel.

Sources told Sheba Intelligence that the Houthi missiles were fired from Abs area in Hajjah to the north of Yemen and the drones from the Al-Luhaya District in Al-Hudaydah to the west of Yemen.

On October 7, Gaza-based Hamas fighters launched a surprise attack on the Israeli settlements, killing and wounding hundreds of Israelis. Since then, Israel has been relentlessly bombing Gaza, vowing to continue the war until it annihilates Hamas.
