The Ansar Allah (Houthi) group began over the last two days mobilizing forces and reinforcements with the intention to resume their military advance on Marib and Shabwah, military sources told Sheba Intelligence on Monday.
According to military sources, this massive preparation for hostilities is the first of its kind since the start of the UN-sponsored truce in April 2022.
Marib city is under the control of the UN-recognized government, while UAE-backed southern separatists control Shabwa.
The sources added that the Houthi group mobilized five thousand fighters from camps in Al-Bayda and Dhamar, and they were deployed in the Harib and Al-Juba districts, south of Marib, and the Mukayras area in Al-Bayda. Armored vehicles and tanks were transferred towards the Al-Sawadiyah district of Al-Bayda in anticipation of the return of war.
The Houthis are preparing in the Al-Hamza camp in Ibb and Al-Amaki of Atta'iziyah district in Taiz for military operations in Mocha, Bab Al-Mandab and Taiz.
The Mukayras Mountains overlook the Gulf of Aden, and the Houthi group can target several Yemeni ports, including Balhaf in Shabwa, Shuqra in Abyan, and Aden.
In Al-Hudaydah, military sources said the Houthi group moved missiles from Ad-Dahi and Bajil areas, which suggests preparation for expected operations in the Red Sea, and these preparations come in line with preparations for launching cross-border attacks from Al-Jawf, Saada, and Hajjah.
