Report: Yemeni Employees in International Organizations Promote the Agenda of Sanaa-based Authorities

A recent report  has claimed that a number of individuals working in international organizations have used their positions to promote the Ansar Allah (Houthi) agenda. This has prompted U.S. officials to form a committee to investigate the information provided by such a report, a diplomatic source told Sheba Intelligence today.

The report used open-source research to collect information about six persons who hold different positions in the Arab Organization for Human Rights (ARWA) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The six persons are Fuad Al-Kuhlan, Safa Al-Muayyad, Angham Al-Shami, Ahmed Al-Shami, Mohammed Al-Wazir, and Yusra Al-Harazi; they all have relatives who occupy senior positions with the Sanaa-based government.

The report revealed details on how these individuals have served the Houthi agenda by providing internal information, directing financial resources, forming lobbies, and coordinating public relations and advertising.

According to the report, the six persons provided the Houthi authorities with critical information, as well as advising them on the policies of the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the United Nations. This helps the authorities in Sanaa to navigate interactions and opportunities for engagement and influence, the report added.

From 2015 to 2023, Yemen received about 31 billion dollars in humanitarian aid due to the war from international donors through international organizations and funds. However, the report said this money did not benefit the Yemeni people. The report noted that the in-kind aid included expired food commodities in light of the huge operational budget from which civilians did not benefit.
