A Yemeni security official told Sheba Intelligence that a member of the General Authority of the Islah Party, Sheikh Abdullah Saatar, survived an assassination attempt through an explosive device that detonated in his car, wounding one of his bodyguards.

The official said, "Saatar was transferred to a safe place until investigations are completed."

The security official said the Ansar Allah (Houthi) group was likely responsible for such an assassination attempt.

He added, "There is a cell among the Houthi cells that we arrested previously whose members admitted that they wanted to target Saatar, and we do not rule out the Houthis have repeated in a bid to assassinate a religious figure who is effective in the moral and intellectual guidance of the Yemeni army especially since the Houthis are planning to attack Marib."

Security information indicates that the Houthi group is arranging to launch an attack on Marib City through its western, northern and southern Marib fronts

According to security sources, the group has finished preparing a field plan to control southern Marib and oil areas in Marib and Shabwa.

The security sources reported that the plan was discussed in a meeting between military leaders from the Houthi group and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. The brother of the Houthi movement chief, Abdul Khaleq al-Houthi, pledged to implement the plan.

The plan obtained by the security services in Marib includes a multifaceted attack preceded by the mobilization of the Houthi forces around Marib, the installation of defensive systems on all fronts, and assigning cells to penetrate Marib and carry out multiple tasks, including assassinating leaders, placing bombs, and monitoring the command and control centers of the Yemeni army, security headquarters, military installations.

According to security sources, the Houthi plan will focus on the movements of the senior military and civilian leadership in Marib, especially the leadership of the intelligence apparatus. The plan includes a surprise attack on the defense lines and launching attacks from several directions, focusing on southern Marib, such as Harib, all the way to Bayhan in Shabwah.

The Houthi attack on Marib - according to the plan - will be accompanied by targeting leaders, bombings, and launching ballistic missiles to create confusion inside the city. The Houthi forces will use all modern weapons, including anti-armor weapons, drones, thermal missiles, snipers, heavy artillery, armored vehicles, and tanks, with air defense systems ready to target any aircraft.

According to the plan, the Houthi group assigned for this mission units from its highly qualified Al-Hussein Brigades and new battalions from Al-Aqsa Flood Classes. They were distributed in Sirwah and Mount Hailan, and other supporting battalions were distributed on the fronts of Wadi Dhanna, the Al-Juba and Al-Sad areas, all the way to Balq Mountainsoverlooking the city of Marib.
