The information follows previous Sheba Intelligence reports on a training camp for STC-linked forces in Somaliland, while international reporting points to an expanding military infrastructure in Berbera.

       Sources told Sheba Intelligence that the UAE is preparing supply, ammunition and fuel depots along coastal areas of Somaliland, in moves the sources said could amount to preparations for a military operation or a wider logistical arrangement linked to the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

The information comes days after Sheba Intelligence reported the existence of a training camp in Somaliland for forces linked to the dissolved Southern Transitional Council, as part of arrangements that sources said may be connected to a possible UAE-backed plan to move toward Yemen’s Socotra Island and take control of it.

According to Sheba Intelligence sources, the new preparations do not appear isolated from the recent movements of the STC in Yemen’s southern governorates, nor from its escalating rhetoric toward Saudi Arabia, including political and media threats made by leaders and activists affiliated with the council in recent days.

The sources said the establishment of supply, fuel and ammunition depots along Somaliland’s coast could provide an advanced support structure for any maritime move or limited landing operation in the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea, especially if linked to forces being trained outside Yemen.

In previous reports, Sheba Intelligence revealed information about maritime and military arrangements for UAE-linked Yemeni forces in Somaliland, including training that may be intended for special missions beyond Yemen’s traditional theater. Sheba Intelligence has also highlighted the growing role of the STC in Red Sea and Socotra-related files, amid a wider regional competition over islands and maritime routes.

The new information is supported by a recent report by the French newspaper Le Monde, which said work was accelerating at Berbera Airport in Somaliland to establish a UAE-led military facility. The report pointed to large excavations where containers were reportedly buried, possibly for ammunition or fuel storage, as well as preparations that could be linked to air-defense systems. This provides additional background to Sheba Intelligence’s information about the expansion of logistical and military infrastructure along Somaliland’s coast.

Berbera and other coastal areas of Somaliland hold strategic importance because of their proximity to Bab al-Mandab, the Gulf of Aden and Yemen’s eastern coastline. This gives them potential value as support points for maritime or military operations in a highly sensitive area, particularly as regional and international competition grows over ports and bases overlooking the Red Sea.

Sheba Intelligence sources said the danger of these moves lies not only in the nature of the depots and preparations, but also in their timing. They coincide with accelerating political and military activity by the STC in southern Yemen, as well as earlier information about the training of forces linked to the council in Somaliland. This raises concerns that Somaliland’s coast could be used as a launch or support platform for a sudden move toward Socotra or other Yemeni areas.

While there is not yet enough public evidence to confirm the exact nature or timing of any possible operation, the sequence of information obtained by Sheba Intelligence, together with international reporting on Berbera, increases concern that Somaliland is becoming an advanced logistical and military platform in the struggle for influence over Socotra, Bab al-Mandab and the Gulf of Aden.
