Southern Separatists Raid a Defector's House in Aden

 

A Southern Revolutionary Movement Council leader said his house was raided and looted on Sunday by the Emirati-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militants in Aden in South Yemen. Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of the Southern Revolutionary Movement Council, Muhammad Dambaa, said STC fighters raided his house, looted properties, and damaged his car. Lately, the Southern Revolutionary Movement Council said it stopped cooperating with the STC, saying that the STC's vision does not consider the interests of the Southern people.

 

On Sunday, hundreds of teachers began a strike in Aden of South Yemen, rejecting the government's decision to pay teachers' salaries through commercial banks. Local sources said the strike occurred in various districts of Aden, and teachers pledged to continue their strike until the decision is withdrawn.   The sources indicated that teachers find difficulty collecting their salaries from banks and do not want to wait in long queues in front of banks every month. 

 

On Sunday, the Masam Project said in a statement it removed about 800 mines in several Yemeni provinces during the first week of this September. The statement indicated among the mines are seven anti-personnel mines, 84 anti-tank mines, 687 unexploded ordnance, and five improvised explosive devices. According to the statement, since the beginning of the Masam Project in Yemen, 414,526 mines were eliminated. Landmines have killed and injured thousands of civilians in Yemen over the last nine years of war.

 

Saudi Arabia has announced the launch of real estate projects worth more than SAR 68.7 billion ($18.3 billion). The announcement was made by the Saudi Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Majed Al-Hogail, during the opening of the "Cityscape Global" exhibition in Riyadh. Al-Hogail stated that the kingdom will expand its residential suburbs across the country in the coming years, with the participation of local and international real estate developers, in a legislative environment that encourages investment.

 

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a private meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during the final day of the G20 summit in New Delhi, Saudi media reported. Bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as regional and global issues, were discussed in the closed-door meeting. Erdogan had visited Saudi Arabia in July as part of a three-day Gulf tour to strengthen regional ties.
