Two missiles launched by the Houthis landed near camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Salah Al-Din area of western Aden, according to Yemeni official statements, marking the latest incident in a series of missile attacks against the country's interim capital.

Officials warned that the missiles landed near displacement camps in a densely populated area, posing a serious threat to hundreds of displaced families who had already fled their homes to escape the war and related violations, only to face renewed danger.

The official statements described exposing displacement camps and their surroundings to missile attacks as a violation of international humanitarian law and the principles protecting civilians. They called for urgent measures to safeguard displaced populations and hold those responsible accountable.

The incident follows a series of Houthi missile attacks against Aden, including an October 24 strike involving three ballistic missiles targeting the Tawahi district, its port, and Coast Guard headquarters.

Yemeni Information Minister Muammar al-Eryani said one missile landed near the port's quay, injuring a fisherman and damaging a small fishing boat.

Aden International Airport has also faced repeated missile attacks throughout October, including an October 16 incident in which two missiles reportedly landed near the airport, followed by another attack on October 21. Yemeni officials have warned that the strikes threaten civilian aviation and humanitarian operations.

The escalation has coincided with the ongoing Dawn of Yemen military operation, launched by Yemeni government forces in early October with support from the Saudi-led coalition. The campaign has involved intensified operations against Houthi positions in Taiz, Marib, and the western coastal region.

Taiz, in particular, has witnessed intensive operations targeting Houthi command-and-control centers, reinforcements, and fortified positions. These developments have unfolded alongside the missile escalation against Aden, although no direct operational connection has been officially confirmed.

The repeated missile impacts near populated areas and civilian infrastructure have heightened concerns over the safety of residents and displaced families, as well as the continued operation of essential facilities in Aden, amid escalating military confrontations along Yemen's western coast and near the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait.
