On Thursday, the Houthi group announced that it had targeted 10 ships associated with the United States, Britain, and Israel in the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, Mediterranean Sea, and Indian Ocean during this past week. The leader of the group, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, stated in a televised speech that his forces "conducted supportive operations for Gaza this past week, using 27 ballistic and cruise missiles and drones, targeting ships in the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean, and the Mediterranean Sea." He indicated that "the total number of ships targeted since in November last year has reached 129 ships." He added these operations are ongoing and will continue to escalate.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) said Wednesday that it successfully destroyed military assets of Yemen’s Houthi group. "At approximately 8:40 p.m. (Sanaa time) May 28, U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) forces successfully destroyed two missile launchers in an Iranian-backed Houthi-controlled area of Yemen," CENTCOM said in a statement. Separately, it said, Houthis on Tuesday launched two anti-ship ballistic missiles (ASBM) from Yemen into the Red Sea, adding there were no injuries or damage reported by US, coalition or commercial ships. Yemen’s Houthi group has been targeting Israeli-linked cargo ships in the Red Sea in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which has been under an Israeli onslaught since Oct. 7 last year.

Indian ship carrying a large shipment of cement from the United Arab Emirates intended for foreign military bases sank off the coast of Yemen’s Socotra province Wednesday, said Yemeni authorities, leading to the loss of one crew member and the rescue of eight others. Local authorities in the province mobilized a boat to the sinking site, and eight out of the nine crew members were rescued, while one is missing,” he added.
