Yemen Condemns Terrorist Attack on Turkey's Interior Ministry

 

 

The Republic of Yemen condemned the suicide bomb attack that targeted Sunday the entrance to the General Security Administration of the Turkish Ministry of Interior in the capital, Ankara. In a statement, the Yemeni Foreign Ministry expressed solidarity with the government and people of the Republic of Turkey and wished for a speedy recovery for the injured. The statement reiterated the Republic of Yemen's rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism, regardless of their causes. Yemen called on the international community to show solidarity in confronting this dangerous phenomenon and to combat the sources of its support, materially, intellectually, or in any form. A suicide bomber detonated an explosive device, and a second assailant was killed in a shootout with police, said Turkish Interior Ministry

 

The Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, received the Yemeni Prime Minister, Moaeen Abdulmalek, in the Qatari capital, Doha, on Sunday. The two parties discussed the cooperation between the two countries and ways to support and enhance it, as well as the latest developments in Yemen, reported the Qatari News Agency (QNA). Sheikh Abdulrahman reiterated that the only way to resolve the Yemeni crisis is through negotiations between Yemenis based on the outcomes of the National Dialogue, the Gulf Initiative, and the relevant Security Council resolutions, especially Resolution 2216. In his statement on his account on the X platform, Abdulmalek stated that he discussed with his Qatari counterpart "bilateral relations" and briefed him on the developments in Yemen and peace efforts.

 

The Houthi group has announced the death of six of its officers in battles with government forces. On Saturday, the Houthi-run Saba News Agency reported that Colonel Naji Yahya Qarba' was buried near the capital, Sanaa, along with Major Nasser Ahmed Al-Qashwi, Major Abdulrahman Ahmed Al-Washli, and First Lieutenant Mabrouk Abdullah Dahsh. Also, Captain Abdulsalam Jahlan and First Lieutenant Jamal Al-Masayyadi were buried in the Al-Bayda governorate. The Houthi agency indicated that these individuals were killed "while performing their duty in defending the homeland," referring to confrontations with government forces. The clashes threaten the peace efforts led by Oman and the UN to end the conflict in Yemen.

 

The demining Masam Project removed 743 mines in various provinces during the fourth week of last September. The Project said in a statement that among the removed mines were 9 anti-personnel mines, 115 anti-tank mines, 618 unexploded ordnance, and one explosive device. The statement pointed out that the demining teams have removed 3,360 mines throughout September. Since the start of the Masam Project, 417,103 mines have been removed. The parties to the conflict in Yemen have planted thousands of mines since the beginning of the civil war in 2015.

 

Saudi authorities arrested 11,465 people in one week for breaching residency, work, and border security regulations, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday. According to an official report, 7,199 people were arrested for violations of residency laws, while 2,882 were captured over illegal border crossing attempts and a further 1,384 for labor-related issues.The report indicated that among the 711 people arrested for trying to enter the Kingdom illegally, 52 percent were Yemeni, 45 percent Ethiopian, and 3 percent were of other nationalities.
