Yemen condemned on Tuesday the Israeli attack on Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza, where 500 people were killed, including women and children.

The Yemeni Foreign Ministry said in a statement what Israel did was genocide against civilians in the Gaza Strip, indicating that this attack “is a crime against humanity”.

Yemen’s Foreign Ministry called on the international community to assume its moral responsibilities and pressure Israel to immediately cease fire, stop its policy of collective punishment, and stop targeting civilians and civilian facilities.

The Ansar Allah (Houthi) group also condemned the Israeli strikes that targeted a civilian facility in Gaza. The Sanaa-based Houthi Supreme Political Council released a statement, saying “the Zionists commit the mass massacres around the clock against the Palestinian people with direct American supervision and Western support.” According to the statement, America and the West today are presenting their brutal and criminal reality.

Mass protests broke out in several Yemeni cities, including Sanaa, Taiz, and Marib. Protestors called for an end to the Israeli siege and bombardment of Gaza and demanded the immediate entry of humanitarian and medical assistance.

Diverse political parties and civil society organizations in Yemen denounced the attack on Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza, calling on the international community to step in and stop the ongoing massacres.

The Yemeni Lawyers Syndicate organized a protest in Taiz City, stressing the necessity of adhering to the principles and rules of international humanitarian law regarding protecting civilians and civilian objects during wartime. The Syndicate said the attack on the hospital in Gaza was an unprecedented breach of the international humanitarian law.

At least 3400 people in Gaza have been killed since October 7. Israel began its airstrikes after Hamas fighters launched a surprise attack on Israeli settlements bordering the Gaza Strip. Israel has vowed to continue the war until it eliminates the Gaza-based Hamas Organization.
