Yemeni Army Reports 2,468 Targeting Operations Across Multiple Fronts
Latest statement reports 474 operations, with an intensive focus on Taiz.
Yemen’s armed forces reported a combined 2,468 strikes and targeting operations in five military statements issued between September 27 and October 2, targeting Houthi positions, reinforcements, command centres and military capabilities.
The sequence began with 756 operations announced on September 27, covering the preceding 72 hours. Subsequent statements reported 356 operations on September 28, 414 on September 29, 468 on September 30, and 474 in the latest statement on October 2. The combined figure represents the sum of the announcements, rather than an independently verified count of separate operations.
The reported campaign extended across the western coast, Haradh, the northern fronts of Kitaf, Al-Buqa and the Alb axis, as well as Al-Jawf, Marib, Al-Bayda, Lahj and Taiz. The latest statement also included Sana’a and Saada, highlighting an intensive operational focus on Taiz. The September 30 announcement specifically identified the eastern front, Al-Bayda and the Al-Mansoura front in Al-Wazi’iyah.
According to military spokesperson Staff Colonel Majed Abdullah Al-Nuzaily, the latest 24-hour campaign used combat aircraft, drones, artillery, missiles and rocket launchers against Houthi concentrations, movements, reinforcements and command-and-control facilities.
The military said those operations killed or wounded 1,540 Houthi fighters, most of them on Taiz fronts, and destroyed or damaged 216 military assets and capabilities. It also said the strikes disrupted Houthi attacks and prevented further breakthroughs in Taiz.
Earlier statements reported 2,316 Houthi fighters killed or wounded, alongside four Iranian military experts killed in Taiz, on September 27, and another 476 fighters killed or wounded on September 28. The September 29 statement provided no numerical casualty total, while the September 30 announcement described hundreds killed or wounded.
