Yemeni Government Accuses Houthis of Firing Three Ballistic Missiles at Aden Port and Coast Guard Headquarters
The Yemeni government accused the Houthis of launching three ballistic missiles targeting Al-Tawahi Port and the Coast Guard headquarters in the interim capital, Aden, injuring a fisherman and damaging a small fishing boat.
Yemeni Information Minister Muammar Al-Eryani said one missile landed near the quay at Al-Tawahi Port, striking a small fishing boat and injuring a fisherman, while two other missiles targeted the Coast Guard headquarters in the city.
Al-Eryani condemned the attack, emphasizing that the Coast Guard is responsible for protecting Yemen's territorial waters, combating smuggling and maritime crime, and safeguarding navigation in the Gulf of Aden, Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Red Sea.
He said the latest attack followed a series of Houthi strikes targeting the presidential palace, Aden International Airport, and other security and civilian facilities in recent weeks.
The minister called on the international community to condemn the attack, investigate the circumstances, hold those responsible accountable, and take concrete measures to prevent the flow of weapons, missiles, and military technology to the Houthis.
The missile attack on Aden comes amid ongoing military operations on the Taiz fronts, where Yemeni government forces have reported offensive operations and strikes against Houthi positions, concentrations, and field commanders in recent days as part of Operation Dawn of Yemen.
The attack also coincided with the Saudi-led coalition's announcement that its air defenses had intercepted ballistic missiles, a cruise missile, and a drone launched by the Houthis toward Saudi Arabia.
