A Third Bahraini Soldier Dies of Injury on Saudi-Yemen Border

A Bahrain soldier died Wednesday, two days after sustaining a severe injury on the Saudi-Yemen border, raising the death toll to three, said the state-run Bahrain News Agency.

A statement by the General Command of Bahrain Defence said, "The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force mourns First Undersecretary Adam Salem Naseeb as he passed away today, Wednesday, as a result of his serious wounds because of the treacherous Houthi hostile attack that took place on Monday."

The Ansar Allah (Houthi) group launched a drone attack on Monday, targeting Bahraini soldiers stationed on the Saudi-Yemen border. The attack killed two soldiers instantly, leaving several others injured.

On Tuesday, informed sources told Sheba Intelligence that the Arab Coalition operations room ignored information predicting potential Houthi attacks. The reason for not taking preemptive action is the state of de-escalation in the Yemen war since April 2022 and the subsequent peace negotiations in Muscat, Sanaa, and Riyadh.

The Bahrain authorities said if the Houthi leadership denounces this criminal attack, they must hand over the perpetrators responsible for this act to Bahrain or the Arab Coalition.

Several countries, including the United States, have condemned this attack, warning that such escalation risks plunging Yemen into a new cycle of war.
