Yemen's Houthis Say They Fired Drones, Missiles at Israel, Vowing "More"

The Ansar Allah (Houthi) group said Tuesday that it launched missile and drone attacks on targets belonging to the Israeli army, vowing to carry out more strikes if the "Israeli aggression continues".

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said in a statement that his group fired "a barrage of ballistic and winged missiles and a number of drones at various enemy targets in the occupied territories."

Saree stated that this operation is the third operation in support of the Palestinian people, vowing to continue "more strikes with missiles and drones until the Israeli aggression stops."

Earlier today, Israeli media said a drone was shot down over the Red Sea near Eilat. Abdelaziz bin Habtour, prime minister of the Iran-backed Houthi government, told the media, "These drones belong to the state of Yemen."

The Houthi leadership said it will not stand idle towards what is happening in Gaza, considering the fight against Israel a religious duty. A few days after the breakout of the Gaza-Israel war, the Houthi movement leadership threatened to intervene in support of Palestinian fighters. 

Informed sources told Shebia Intelligence the group fired two missiles yesterday, Monday, from Saada and Al-Jawf, and a missile was fired on Sunday from Bajil in Al-Hudyadah. The three missiles fell before their arrival.

According to a military expert, the failure of the Houthi missiles and drones to arrive suggests that the Houthis do not have a ground station close to Eilat or the air defenses shot it down, as happened on October 19 when an American warship intercepted missiles and drones coming from Yemen. The other reason for the failure of the missiles and drones could be the poor quality of fuel used.

Last week, a Yemeni intelligence source told Sheba Intelligence that the Houthi group plans to target military sites in the Arabian Gulf, especially in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. These sites are closer to the Houthis than Israel.

On Monday, the Houthi group began a maneuver in Sanaa in preparation for more involvement in the war. Houthi military officials said this maneuver is a preparation to confront dangers and challenges and support the resistance fighters in Gaza that "taught the Israeli enemy harsh lessons". 

Over the past few weeks, Sheba Intelligencemonitored the movements of the Houthi missile force and drones as part of their preparation for involvement in the Gaza-Israel war. The group has deployed missiles and drones in six centers:  Al-Hudaydah, Taiz-Al-Bayda, Al-Jawf, Sa'ada-Amran and Sanaa.

Sheba Intelligence obtained information about the recent arrival of 100 experts from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah in Sana'a. A joint operations room was prepared at the US Embassy in Sana'a, and it brings together the leadership of the missile force, drones, air defense, coastal defense, and intelligence.
