Iranian Expert and Yemeni Photographer Killed in a Failed Ballistic Missile Launch in Yemen's Dhamar

Sources from within the Houthi group said that at least an Iranian military expert and a Yemeni photographer were killed in a failed ballistic missile launch from one of the Houthi camps in central Yemen.

Late Friday, citizens heard a large explosion in the Bani Suwayd area in the Dhoran Anes District, north of Dhamar province. People familiar with the matter said the Houthis had made changes to the missile launch centers, including activating the Dhamar center, where the group owns training camps and missile depots, and has continued to avoid launching drone or missile attacks from there. 

The size of the bombing sparked many rumors that air strikes hit the Houthi camps.

This is not the first time that the Houthis have failed to launch a ballistic missile since they announced firing missiles and drones at Israel in support of the Palestinian resistance. 

The information indicated that experts from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps are the ones responsible for supervising and operating ballistic missiles, and they developed the missiles to reach further distances and cause further destruction. 

On Wednesday, November 1, the Houthi group failed to launch two missiles from Al-Jawf province and the Ras Issa area in Al-Hudaydah. The missiles crashed a few minutes after their launch. Authorities in Marib province said Thursday a Houthi missile fell at dawn near a displaced people camp, causing no casualties. 

The Houthi group did not comment on the incident or clarify whether it was a failure of one of its ballistic missiles or a directed attack on Marib City, which contains nearly two million displaced people. If it was an intentional attack on Marib, it means that the group is prepared to resume the war, as taking over the gas and oil resources in Marib and Shabwah is one of the group's prime goals, according to Houthi sources.
