Government forces report more than 36,000 targeting operations and over 19,000 Houthi personnel neutralised since October 4, alongside fresh advances in Al-Jawf and continued fighting in Taiz.

Five people were killed and 15 others wounded in a ballistic missile strike on a health centre in Yemen's southern Lahj governorate, according to the Yemeni government, which accused the Houthis of carrying out the attack. The incident coincided with continued military operations across several fronts and new presidential appointments to key military commands in Taiz and Tur Al-Bahah.

Yemen's Ministry of Public Health and Population said the missile struck the Al-Saqiyah Health Centre in Al-Mudaribah district on Monday, November 2. Three healthcare workers were among those killed, while seven medical personnel were among the injured.

The Yemeni Armed Forces accused the Houthis of launching the missile from territory under their control and pledged to take military measures to address the threat and neutralise the group's ballistic missile capabilities, while stating that any response would comply with international humanitarian law.

The Health Ministry called on the United Nations, the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross to investigate the attack and hold those responsible accountable.

Medical facilities and healthcare personnel enjoy special protection under international humanitarian law. Deliberately attacking a protected medical facility may constitute a war crime, depending on the circumstances and available evidence.

Government Forces Report 951 Targeting Operations as Al-Jawf Advances Continue

In its latest operational statement, the Yemeni Armed Forces reported carrying out 951 targeting operations over the preceding 24 hours as part of Operation Dawn of Yemen, using combat aircraft, drones, field artillery and multiple rocket launchers.

According to the military, the operations neutralised approximately 332 Houthi field commanders and fighters and destroyed or disabled 56 military vehicles and pieces of equipment.

The strikes reportedly targeted Houthi positions, reinforcements, fortifications, fire positions and supply routes across Al-Jawf, Marib, Al-Bayda and the northern, southern and southwestern fronts.

In Al-Jawf, government forces said they were continuing operations from positions recaptured over the previous 48 hours.

Military engineering units were also clearing mines and improvised explosive devices from recaptured areas to secure the territory and reduce risks to civilians.

In Taiz, government troops and local resistance forces continued confronting Houthi attacks and targeting the group's positions and movements. The military reported casualties and equipment losses among Houthi forces but did not provide specific figures for the Taiz front.

Presidential Decrees Reshape Military Commands in Taiz and Tur Al-Bahah

Amid the ongoing fighting, Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi issued two decrees appointing senior military commanders to positions overseeing the Taiz front and Tur Al-Bahah Military Axis.

Under Presidential Decree No. 246, Brigadier General Rashad Ahmed Ismail Al-Yousufi was appointed a member of the Supreme Military Committee and commander responsible for the Taiz front, with promotion to the rank of Major General.

Presidential Decree No. 247 appointed Majdi Munadil Thabet Ahmed as commander of the Tur Al-Bahah Military Axis and the First Brigade of the Nation's Shield Forces, promoting him to Major General.

The decree also appointed Bassam Abdu Saeed Salem Al-Haraq as chief of staff of the Tur Al-Bahah Military Axis and commander of the Fourth Mountain Infantry Brigade.

Brigadier General Naji Muqbil Mohammed Saeed Al-Shattaf was appointed chief of operations of the same military axis.

The appointments come as fighting continues across Taiz and Lahj governorates. The presidential decrees did not announce specific changes to troop deployments or operational plans.

Operational Background: More Than 36,000 Targeting Operations Since October 4

The cumulative number of targeting operations reported by Yemeni government forces since the launch of Operation Dawn of Yemen on October 4 has reached at least 36,299, with more than 19,258 Houthi commanders and fighters reportedly neutralised, according to Sheba Intelligence's preliminary compilation of daily military statements through November 2, 2026.

In its October 29 report, Sheba Intelligence documented 31,870 targeting operations and more than 17,663 Houthi personnel reportedly neutralised.

Military statements issued over the following four days reported an additional 4,429 targeting operations, approximately 1,595 Houthi personnel neutralised, and 479 military vehicles and pieces of equipment destroyed or disabled.

The reported operations involved combat aircraft, drones, artillery and multiple rocket launchers targeting Houthi positions, command facilities, reinforcements and supply routes across several fronts.

The figures are based on official military statements and have not been independently verified by Sheba Intelligence.

The military term "neutralised" does not necessarily mean that all personnel included in the figures were killed; it may also encompass individuals wounded or otherwise rendered unable to participate in combat.
